Stage: Regular Season Round 1

Eden Park

The Chiefs secured a 25-14 victory against the Blues at Eden Park. Damian McKenzie was instrumental for the Chiefs, scoring a try and contributing 13 points through penalties and conversions. The Blues initially surged ahead with tries from Dalton Papali'i and AJ Lam, both converted by Beauden Barrett, taking a 14-6 lead at halftime. However, the Chiefs rallied in the second half, with McKenzie scoring early and Leroy Carter adding another try late in the game. The turning point came when the Blues' Fusitu'a received a yellow card, leaving them temporarily a man down. Despite a strong performance, the Blues were unable to capitalize on their early advantage. The Chiefs' resilience and tactical execution ultimately earned them a solid win.
