The Crusaders narrowly defeated the Chiefs 13-12 in a tightly contested Super Rugby match. Early on, Havili received a yellow card, which allowed Dyer to score a try for the Chiefs, converted by McKenzie. The Crusaders responded quickly with a try from Taylor, followed by a successful conversion and two penalties from Reihana, giving them a 13-7 lead at halftime. In the second half, Stevenson scored a try for the Chiefs, but they could not convert it, leaving them trailing by a single point. The match featured strong defensive efforts from both sides, but the Crusaders held firm in the final minutes. Reihana's kicking proved crucial for the home side, as they managed to maintain their slim advantage. This victory marked a redemption for the Crusaders after losing their previous encounters to the Chiefs earlier in the season.
