Italy triumphed over Australia 26-19 in a closely contested friendly match at Bluenergy Stadium. Paolo Garbisi was instrumental for Italy, scoring 14 points from the boot with four penalties and two conversions. Australia took an early lead with tries from Matt Faessler and Angus Bell, but Italy responded strongly. Louis Lynagh and Monty Ioane both crossed the line for Italy, with Garbisi converting both tries to secure the home side's advantage. Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii's yellow card proved costly for Australia, limiting their options in the final quarter. Despite a late try from Carter Gordon, Italy held on for the victory. This match showcased Italy's resilience and attacking prowess against a formidable Australian side.
