New Zealand Women secured a decisive 42-26 victory over France Women in the Women's World Cup. The match began with France's Bourdon Sansus scoring an early try, quickly followed by a conversion from Arbez to lead 7-0. However, New Zealand responded emphatically through Demant, Brunt, and Holmes, who each crossed the line, with Holmes converting her own try and finishing the half with a total of 14 points. After halftime, Sorensen-McGee added two more tries for New Zealand, showcasing their attacking prowess. France made a late surge with tries from Champon and Vernier, but it was not enough to close the gap. Holmes' exceptional performance, including two tries and multiple conversions, highlighted her impact on the game. Ultimately, New Zealand's strong first-half performance set the tone for their dominant victory.
