The Highlanders managed a brief response with a try from Kautai, but McKenzie’s boot ensured the Chiefs maintained control. The second half saw Boshier score twice, further extending the Chiefs' lead. McKenzie continued to impress, converting all but one try and contributing significantly to the scoreboard.
