The Queensland Reds triumphed over the NSW Waratahs with a final score of 28-21 in a closely contested Super Rugby match. The Waratahs started strong, with tries from O'Donnell and Gordon, both converted by Edmed, giving them an early 14-0 lead. However, the Reds quickly responded with a try from McDermott, followed by a penalty and another try from Asiata before halftime, closing the gap to 14-14. The second half saw Tupou score for the Waratahs, but the Reds surged ahead with tries from Nasser and Anderson, both converted by McLaughlin-Phillips. The Waratahs struggled with discipline, receiving two yellow cards, which hampered their efforts to regain control. Despite their best efforts, the Waratahs could not find the final score needed to win. This victory marked another success for the Reds against their rivals, continuing their winning streak over the Waratahs.
