ASM Clermont Auvergne secured a narrow victory over Union Bordeaux-Bègles with a final score of 32-27. Joris Jurand opened the scoring with an early try for Clermont, followed by a quick succession of tries from Pierre Fouyssac and Bautista Delguy, establishing a 17-6 lead by the first quarter. Joey Carbery kept Bordeaux in touch with two penalties before Lachlan Swinton's try in the second half brought the visitors back to within striking distance. Urdapilleta's boot contributed significantly to Clermont's points, including a try from Leon Darricarrere that extended their lead. Bordeaux's late surge included a try from Temo Matiu, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit. Both teams dealt with yellow cards, impacting their momentum throughout the match. Ultimately, Clermont's early lead and effective scoring proved decisive in this closely contested Top 14 encounter.
