In a closely contested Super Rugby match, the Chiefs fell short against the Blues, losing 19-20 at FMG Stadium Waikato. Damian McKenzie was instrumental for the Chiefs, scoring multiple penalties and a try, contributing 14 points overall. The Blues' Beauden Barrett also played a key role, converting critical points and setting up momentum for his team. A yellow card for Blues' Ricky Riccitelli in the first half created opportunities for the Chiefs, but they could not capitalize fully. The decisive moment came when Josh Beehre scored a late try for the Blues, which Barrett converted to secure the win. The match showcased intense back-and-forth action, with both sides displaying impressive defensive efforts. Ultimately, the Blues managed to hold on for a narrow victory, continuing their strong form in the competition.
