Argentina showcased their strength against Uruguay, securing a decisive victory with a score of 52-17. The home team opened the scoring with a penalty try, following an early yellow card shown to Uruguay's Sanguinetti. Uruguay responded with a try from Aliaga, but Argentina's Moroni answered back just before halftime, leaving the score at 19-10. The second half saw Argentina extend their lead, despite losing Rubiolo to a red card. They maintained their attacking momentum with tries from Piccardo, Isgro, and Moyano, all converted by Roger. Uruguay managed to score again through Alvarez, but it was too little too late. Overall, Argentina's disciplined performance and strong finishing proved too much for the visitors.
