New Zealand secured a 24-17 victory over South Africa at Eden Park in a thrilling contest. Emoni Narawa opened the scoring with a try early in the match, followed by a conversion from Jordie Barrett. Will Jordan extended the lead with another try, converted by Damian McKenzie, putting the All Blacks 14-3 ahead. South Africa responded with a penalty from Handre Pollard, but New Zealand maintained control with a penalty from McKenzie. Malcolm Marx scored a try for the Springboks, narrowing the gap, but Quinn Tupaea's try restored New Zealand's lead. A yellow card for Kwagga Smith further hampered South Africa's efforts. Cobus Reinach's late try brought South Africa within seven points, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome.
