Kingston Park

Northampton Saints secured a decisive 36-19 victory over Newcastle Red Bulls at Kingston Park. The Saints quickly took control with tries from van der Mescht and Mitchell, both converted by Smith, putting them ahead 14-0. Newcastle responded with tries from Spencer and Mafi, narrowing the gap before halftime. However, a red card for van der Mescht early in the second half significantly hindered Northampton. Coetzee extended Newcastle's resurgence with a try, but Todaro's response for the Saints kept them ahead. Late in the game, Coles added another try for Northampton, solidifying their lead. Smith's accurate kicking contributed greatly to the Saints' victory, finishing with 16 points from conversions and penalties.
