Northampton Saints narrowly defeated Bath Rugby 41-38 in a thrilling Premiership showdown. Fin Smith opened the scoring for the Saints with a try and conversion in the second minute. Bath responded quickly through Louie Hennessey, but Northampton kept the pressure on with tries from Tommy Freeman and Ollie Sleightholme. Despite two yellow cards for the Saints, Bath's Will Muir and later Arthur Green put them back in contention. The second half saw more drama, with Freeman scoring again, but Bath's Archie Griffin led a comeback. The match remained tense until the final moments, with Smith missing a drop goal that could have sealed the game earlier. Ultimately, a late penalty from Smith secured the victory for the Saints.
