Italy triumphed over Scotland 18-15 in a tightly contested Six Nations match at Stadio Olimpico. The home side opened the scoring with tries from Lynagh and Menoncello, with Garbisi converting to establish an early lead. Scotland responded with Dempsey's try, converted by Russell, but Italy maintained their advantage with a penalty from Garbisi. The match saw Scotland's Turner receive a yellow card, which shifted momentum briefly in Italy's favor. Horne scored a late try for Scotland, but it wasn't enough to clinch victory. Garbisi's kicking proved crucial for Italy, although he missed two drop goals during the match. Ultimately, Italy's defense held firm, securing a vital win in their Six Nations campaign.
