In a tightly contested Top 14 clash, Montpellier Herault Rugby triumphed over Union Bordeaux-Bègles with a final score of 23-21. Maxime Lucu opened the scoring for Bordeaux with a penalty, but Montpellier responded through Mohamed Haouas' try, converted by Domingo Miotti. Bordeaux's Matthieu Jalibert quickly leveled the score with a try of his own, followed by another penalty from Lucu before halftime. The second half saw Yacouba Camara score a crucial try for Montpellier, again converted by Miotti. Bordeaux's Maxime Lamothe scored a late try that brought them within two points, but they could not secure the win. The match turned chaotic as Jefferson Poirot received a red card, leaving Bordeaux down a man late in the game. Ultimately, Miotti's penalties proved decisive, allowing Montpellier to secure the victory on the road.
