Montpellier Herault Rugby delivered a commanding performance against USA Perpignan, winning 53-13 in the Challenge Cup. Melvyn Rates was the standout player, scoring three tries, showcasing his explosive pace and finishing skills. Jon Echegaray and Justo Piccardo also contributed to the scoring, while Thomas Vincent added crucial conversions to secure the victory. Perpignan's Antoine Aucagne managed to score two penalties, but their attack struggled to break through Montpellier's solid defense. The away side's Pietro Ceccarelli scored a consolation try shortly after halftime, but it was too little to change the course of the match. Montpellier's dominance was further emphasized by their ability to maintain control and pressure throughout the game. The win reinforced Montpellier's strong form in the competition, capitalizing on their home advantage at Septeo Stadium.
