The Barbarians faced New Zealand XV at the Gtech Community Stadium, ending with a score of 19-33. The home side started strong, with tries from Ntlabakanye, Roos, and Mbonambi, all converted by du Preez, leading to an early 19-7 lead. However, New Zealand responded through Tangitau just before halftime, narrowing the gap. In the second half, New Zealand dominated, scoring four tries from Roe, Tangitau, Preston, and Havili, with Jacomb converting three of them. The Barbarians struggled to regain momentum as substitutions were made, but they couldn't breach the New Zealand defence again. Notably, Jacomb's kicking was crucial, ensuring New Zealand maintained the advantage. The match highlighted the Barbarians' initial promise but ultimately showcased New Zealand's resilience and finishing power.
