The away team struck first with a try from Rodor, converted by Meret, followed by a penalty to take an early lead. Grenoble responded with a try from Storti, converted by Trouilloud, but Valence quickly regained momentum with Marsan's try. Meret's accuracy with the boot added further penalties, maintaining Valence's advantage. In the second half, Grenoble's Fusier scored to narrow the gap, but yellow cards hampered Valence's momentum.
