Stadio Olimpico
Italy triumphed over England 23-18 in a thrilling Six Nations encounter at Stadio Olimpico. Paolo Garbisi was instrumental for Italy, scoring crucial penalties and converting Tommaso Menoncello's and Leonardo Marin's tries. England's Tommy Freeman opened the scoring with a try, but Italy responded strongly with Menoncello's effort just before halftime. The second half saw rapid exchanges, highlighted by England's Tom Roebuck scoring shortly after the break, followed by Garbisi’s continued accuracy from the tee. Both teams faced disciplinary issues, with yellow cards for Nicotera and Itoje, affecting their respective strategies. Despite England's pressure late in the game, Italy held firm to secure a vital victory. This win marked a significant turnaround for Italy against a traditionally dominant England side.
