The Chiefs narrowly defeated the Blues 19-15 in a closely contested Super Rugby match at Eden Park. Tupou Vaa'i scored the opening try for the Chiefs in the first half, followed by a response from Zarn Sullivan, who also added a conversion after Dalton Papali'i's try early in the second half. The Chiefs played with 14 men for a period due to Kaylum Boshier's yellow card, but managed to maintain their lead. Samisoni Taukei'aho then crossed the line for the Chiefs, leveling the scores before Cortez Ratima's late try brought the Blues back into contention. Sullivan's penalty and conversion kept the Blues in the game, yet they fell short despite a valiant effort. The match showcased strong performances, particularly from Sullivan and Taukei'aho, who were pivotal for their respective teams. Ultimately, the Chiefs secured a hard-fought victory, adding to their recent success against the Blues.
