The Hurricanes delivered a commanding performance against the Highlanders, winning 50-7 at Forsyth Barr Stadium. Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens opened the scoring for the Highlanders, but it was Cam Roigard who sparked the Hurricanes into action with two early tries. With Ruben Love converting all but one try, the Hurricanes built a formidable lead, highlighted by Fehi Fineanganofo's impressive hat-trick. The Highlanders struggled to find their rhythm and were unable to respond effectively after their initial score. Both teams faced disciplinary issues, with yellow cards issued to players on each side. The Hurricanes continued to dominate, finishing with a try from Peter Lakai just before the final whistle. This result extended the Hurricanes' winning streak against the Highlanders in recent encounters.
