Stage: Regular Season Round 1

Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium

South Africa delivered a commanding performance against the Barbarians, winning 80-31 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Edwill van der Merwe shone with a brace of tries, while Cheslin Kolbe contributed significantly with his kicking, converting ten tries. The Barbarians initially kept pace, with Virimi Vakatawa scoring early, but suffered from two yellow cards that hampered their defensive effort. South Africa quickly capitalized, with Pieter-Steph du Toit and Jasper Wiese adding to the tally before halftime. The second half saw the hosts maintain their momentum, with Kolbe scoring a try himself and Faf de Klerk also crossing the line. The Barbarians managed to score five tries, but their lack of discipline ultimately cost them. South Africa's comprehensive victory underscored their dominance in this international tour match.
