Stage: Regular Season Round 11

Emirates Airline Park

The Lions triumphed over the Stormers with a score of 30-23 at Emirates Airline Park. Gianni Lombard's kicking was instrumental, converting all but one try and scoring penalties to keep the scoreboard ticking. Early on, the Stormers faced a setback with Warrick Gelant receiving a yellow card, allowing the Lions to capitalize with a quick succession of tries from Morne van den Berg, Henco van Wyk, and Marius Louw. The Stormers fought back with a try from Gelant just after halftime, but the Lions maintained their lead through consistent scoring. Evan Roos's late try for the Stormers added tension, but they couldn't quite bridge the gap. Both teams displayed resilience, with key penalties from Jurie Matthee keeping the Stormers in contention. Ultimately, the Lions held on for a hard-fought victory in a match filled with intensity and skill.
