Cardiff Rugby secured a narrow 20-17 victory over the Lions in a tightly contested match at Cardiff Arms Park. The Lions struck first with a try from Ntlabakanye, followed by a successful conversion from Lombard, putting them ahead early. Cardiff responded quickly, with Donnell scoring a try and Sheedy converting, giving them a 7-10 lead. Sheedy continued to shine, adding a penalty shortly before halftime. In the second half, Horn's try for the Lions briefly leveled the score, but Cardiff's Millard answered back with a crucial try.
