Union Bordeaux-Bègles secured a convincing 32-20 victory against Lyon at Stade Chaban-Delmas. Maxime Lamothe opened the scoring with an early try, quickly followed by another from Nicolas Depoortere. Matthieu Jalibert's conversion after Depoortere's try put Bordeaux-Bègles ahead 14-0. Lyon responded with a try from Esteban Gonzalez, but Bordeaux-Bègles maintained momentum with a yellow card to Jalibert not deterring their attack. In the second half, Salesi Rayasi and Louis Bielle-Biarrey both crossed for Bordeaux-Bègles, extending their lead. Despite a strong effort from Lyon, particularly through Paddy Jackson's scoring contributions, they couldn't close the gap. The win marked a strong statement for Bordeaux-Bègles after their previous defeat to Lyon earlier in the year.
