The Dragons responded with a try from Aneurin Owen, narrowing the gap to 10-5. In the second half, Vincent added another penalty before Alexis Bernadet scored Montpellier's second try, increasing their advantage to 18-5. Owen struck again for Dragons with his second try, and Angus O'Brien's conversion brought them closer at 18-12.
