The Stormers secured a 26-17 victory over Bayonne in a tightly contested Champions Cup match at Stade Jean Dauger. Imad Khan opened the scoring for the Stormers with a try in the first minute, followed by a conversion from Clinton Swart. Bayonne responded with a try from Federico Mori at the 15-minute mark, but the Stormers maintained their lead through three penalties converted by Swart. A red card for Adre Smith early in the second half put the Stormers under pressure, yet they managed to extend their lead with a try from Paul de Villiers. Bayonne rallied with tries from Arnaud Erbinartegaray and Lucas Paulos, but ultimately fell short. Swart's consistent kicking was crucial for the Stormers, contributing to their points tally. Despite a strong effort from Bayonne, the Stormers held on for the win.
