Edinburgh Rugby secured a narrow victory over Gloucester Rugby, finishing 26-24 in a closely contested Champions Cup clash. The match started with Gloucester's Hathaway scoring the first try, quickly followed by a try from Edinburgh's Vellacott. Barton of Gloucester added two penalties to keep his team in contention, while Edinburgh's Ashman and McConnell both crossed the line to establish a lead. A penalty try awarded to Edinburgh, due to Gloucester's infringement, heightened the drama, culminating in Atkinson's yellow card for the visitors. In the final stages, Barton kept Gloucester within striking distance with another penalty, but they ultimately fell short. Ross Thompson's kicking proved crucial for Edinburgh, as he converted both Ashman's and McConnell's tries. The match showcased tenacity from both sides, but Edinburgh's resilience on home turf secured their victory.
